Extracto de licorice

Eis o componente mais difícil de encontrar nos cremes de olhos. O extracto de licorice inibe a pigmentação prevenindo a activação da tirosina que é um aminoácido que contribui para a formação de melanina e , por isso, é ideal para quem sofre de hiperpigmentação debaixo dos olhos. Tem ainda como efeito aclarar as olheiras escuras.
Pelos seus efeitos, este ingrediente é mais eficaz para olheiras castanhas do que para as olheiras roxas (para saberes a distinção clica aqui). Ao que consegui apurar, a Clinique crê fortemente que esta substância tem efeitos iluminadores e está a aprofundar a sua aplicação em cremes de olhos.
Só aconselho a procura de produtos com extracto de licorice quando as anteriores soluções que vos mostrei não sejam suficiente. Só quando já não sabem o que fazer para se livrarem das malditas é que  devem recorrer a produtos com extracto de licorice, já que, é um componente raro e muito caro no mercado.
O creme de olhos de La Prairie que podem ver na imagem não só contém extracto de licorice como também vitamina C.

This is the most difficult component to find the eye cream. The licorice extract  prevents pigmentation by inhibiting the activation of tyrosine which is an amino acid that contributes to the formation of melanin, and so is ideal for those suffering from hyperpigmentation under the eyes. It also has the effect of brightening the dark circles.
By its properties, this ingredient is most effective for brown dark circles rather than purple  circles (click to find out the distinction here). From what I could ascertain, Clinique believes strongly that this substance has illuminating effects and is researchinf its application in eye creams.
I advise you to the search for products with licorice extract when I the solutions showed you earlier are not enough. Only when you do not know what to do to get rid of the darn thing that you shall use products with licorice extract, since this component is rare and very expensive on the market.
The eye cream from La Prairie that you can see in the image  contains licorice extract as well as vitamin C.

Haloxyl 

Haloxyl  é um componente que tem vindo a receber muitos elogios da comunidade científica e até, há quem vá ao ponto de afirmar que este é a única solução para as olheiras disponível no mercado. 

O haloxyl ajuda a eliminar os efeitos da hemossiderina que é responsável pela pigmentação castanha debaixo dos olhos. De facto, a pigmentação castanha nada mais é do que acumulação de um pigmento (hemossiderina). O haloxyl ajuda a absorver e a eliminar os pigmentos coloridos na pele contribuindo, dessa forma, para a redução das olheiras.

Haloxyl is a component that has received much praise from the scientific community and even, some would go so far as to say that this is the only solution for dark circles on the market. Haloxyl helps to eliminate the effects of hemosiderin that is responsible for creating brown pigment under your eyes. In fact, this brown pigmentation is nothing more than an accumulation of hemosiderin. Vitamina K

A ingestão de alimentos com vitamina k ajuda a circulação do sangue e previne a formação de coágulos. A má circulação de sangue pode contribuir para o aparecimento de olheiras por isso é importante incluir espinafres, brócolos, couve, etc. na nossa dieta. 

Food with vitamin K helps the circulation of blood and prevents the formation of clots. Poor blood circulation can contribute to the appearance of dark circles so it is important to include spinach, broccoli, cabbage, etc.. in our diet.

Para um tratamento mais localizado na pele , os cremes hidratantes com vitamina k reforçam as paredes capilares e reduzem a visibilidade dos vasos sanguíneos na pele em redor dos olhos. Este ingrediente é difícil de encontrar e em certos países é considerado ilegal ,como tal, se pedirem ajuda a assistentes de parafarmácia estas, muito provavelmente , nunca ouviram falar nesta vitamina (eu já comprovei esta teoria).

For a more localized skincare , the moisturizing creams with vitamin K strengthen the capillary walls and reduce the visibility of blood vessels in the skin around the eyes. This ingredient is difficult to find and in some countries is illegal so don't act surprised when you ask for it in a parapharmacy and no one there ever heard of it (I have confirmed this theory).

A vitamina K demora a actuar pelo que não se pode procurar diferenças dramáticas no decurso de 3 meses. Muitos dermatologistas crêem que a vitamina k produz os seus efeitos mais rapidamente quando combinada ,alternadamente, com vitamina A (retinol). Esta combinação previne inchaço, melhora a circulação e reforça os vasos capilares. The combination of vitamin K with certain medications can prevent the absorption of vitamin K and therefore, it is advisable to consult a specialist.

Vitamina C

Há várias causas para o aparecimento de olheiras e ,melhor do que recorrer aos correctores, é evitá-las ou usar um creme que reduza a sua visibilidade.

São vários os factores responsáveis pelo aparecimento de olheiras: velhice, stress, herança genética,cansaço extremo,entre outros. Não irei referir razões de saúde como alergias, visto que ,são sintomas passageiros.
There are several reasons for the appearance of dark circles and, rather than resorting to concealers ,it is better to avoid them or use a cream that reduces its impact.
There are several factors responsible for the appearance of dark circles: old age,stress, genetics, extreme fatigue, among others. I will not refer to health reasons such as allergies, since those symptoms are temporary.

Um dos dois tipos de olheiras que existem são as de cor azul/roxo que resultam de stress/cansaço extremo.  Estas olheiras surgem por acção dos vasos sanguíneos. Se tivermos vasos capilares gotejantes ,os capilares deixam que a hemoglobina verta e, quando esta oxida, transforma-se em desoxi-hemoglobina que provoca a cor azulada. Traduzindo para português, as veias ficam mais visíveis e provocam a tonalidade azul/roxo/verde (dependendo da pigmentação da pele) que se vê.

Quando estamos sob stress, o sangue "aloja-se" nos órgãos vitais (auto-defesa do corpo) deixando a face pálida e evidenciando o azul/roxo sob os olhos.

You can have one of two tipes of dark circles:blue / purple or brown/red. The blue tipe is caused by stress /extreme fatigue. These dark circles arise by the action of the blood vessels. If you have leaky capillaries, the capillaries let the hemoglobin escape and when it oxidizes it becomes deoxyhemoglobin which causes the blue color. Translating into English: the veins become more visible and cause the blue / purple /green tone (depending on skin pigmentation) that you see.

When we are under stress, the blood "lodges" in the vital organs (body's self-defense), leaving the pale face and making the blue / purple under the eyes more visible.

As olheiras castanhas/cinzentas são provocadas por pigmentação (melanina) debaixo dos olhos chamada hiperpigmentação periorbital. Como a membrana onde se situa a pálpebra inferior é a mais fina do nosso corpo, os depósitos de melanina são muito visíveis e tendem a agravar com a idade. Este tipo de olheiras é provocado por herança genética ou velhice. É muito comum nas mulheres indianas e nas asiáticas.

The dark brown / gray circles are caused by excess of pigment (melanin) under the eyes called periorbital hyperpigmentation. As the membrane under the eyes is the thinnest on our body, the melanin deposits are highly visible and tend to worsen with age. Thiese dark circles are caused by genetics or age. It is very common in Indian and Asian women.

Tenho que alertar para o facto de a fisionomia da cara ser relevante neste caso. Quem tenha os olhos muito fundos e o osso da sobrancelha saliente, terá uma sombra natural que será visível na zona das olheiras. Tal sombra não pode ser qualificada como olheira porque não é resultado de produção do nosso corpo. Como tal, os produtos mencionados neste post não poderão resolver a questão.

I have to warn that the physiognomy of the face is very relevant in this case. Those who have eyes very deep and protruding brow bone, have a natural shade that will be visible in the undereye area. This shadow can not be classified as a dark circle because it is the result of your bone structure. As such, the products mentioned in this post can not resolve the issue.

A vitamina C ajuda na produção de colagénio e na elasticidade da pele. Ajuda ainda , e este é o aspecto mais relevante para esta selecção, a iluminar a pele e, como contém anti-oxidantes reduz o  visibilidade da pigmentação. Os produtos para o contorno dos olhos que contém vitamina C são muito fáceis de encontrar (comparando com os outros componentes de que vos falarei no futuro).
